Emirates publishes its cabin-crew criteria and takes applications through the Emirates Group Careers website. As far as we can verify, the stages run in this order:
Stage names, order and formats can change.
Prepare what the airline asks for. Keep every answer consistent and re-check the live form before you submit.
Use this list as a checklist. The live portal decides what the form asks, and its fields can change.
Your answers must agree with your CV and your documents.
Do these last checks on the day you submit, because the airline's form can change at any time.
Airlines rarely explain individual decisions. The patterns below are common preparation mistakes. They are not a record of any airline’s decisions or of any candidate’s outcome.
The most avoidable mistake is applying without meeting a published criterion. Check these before you apply:
We last verified these criteria on 12 September 2026. Confirm the current wording on the airline’s careers page.

These answers cover the requirements candidates ask about most, such as arm reach, tattoos and how this airline differs from others. Each is based on the criteria we last verified and tells you to confirm the airline's own wording.
No. In the criteria we last verified, Emirates, Qatar Airways, Riyadh Air and Saudia list a 212 cm reach (Saudia on tiptoes). The Etihad Airways, flydubai and Air Arabia criteria we verified list no reach requirement. Measure yourself and check the airline’s own wording.
Emirates, Etihad Airways, Riyadh Air, flydubai and Air Arabia all list “no visible tattoos in uniform” in the criteria we verified (Air Arabia says tattoos or marks). Etihad adds that cosmetic or bandage coverings are not permitted. Check the airline’s own wording before you apply. See also our article on tattoos and cabin crew.
