Requirements

Saudia requirements in plain language

Required rules can end an application. A person has to confirm the rules marked “Checked by a person”, so we never decide them automatically.

Eligibility
Whether you meet an airline's published minimum criteria, such as age, height or arm reach, education, languages and documents. If you do not, an application usually cannot move.
Arm reach
How high you can reach with one arm, measured in centimetres. Some airlines list a minimum, for example 212 cm, and others list none.

The rules, one by one

  • Education

    Required

Saudia requires at least high-school education.

  • School grade

    Required

Saudia currently requires an overall high-school grade of Good or higher.

  • STEP score

    Required

Saudia requires a STEP by QIYAS score of at least 72.

  • STEP result date

    Required

Saudia requires the STEP result to have been issued within three years.

  • Arm reach

    Required

Saudia requires a minimum arm reach of 212 cm on tiptoes.

  • Saudi National ID

    Required

Saudia currently requires a valid Saudi National ID with at least six months remaining.

  • Height and weight standard

    Checked by a person

Saudia uses an internal height and weight standard that it does not publish, so we show no chart. Check the current standard before you submit.

  • Health and fitness

    Checked by a person

Saudia requires you to pass its screening assessment. Skywing’s diagnosis cannot certify this.

What the stage names mean

These are the words you will meet in the recruitment stages and on the airline's careers page.

Screening
The airline's first review of your application and CV. It decides whether you are invited to the next stage.
Open day
A recruitment event that candidates who meet the criteria may attend, usually after registering in advance. The airline announces it on its own careers page.
Invite-only assessment
A selection event you can attend only after the airline has invited you, usually after your online application passed screening.
Assessment Day
A day of selection where the airline observes you in person. A typical day has a welcome briefing, a group exercise, individual tasks such as English and reach checks, then interviews, but the schedule differs by airline and event. Recruiters watch how you work with others, not only what you say.
Final interview
The last conversation with the airline's panel, usually competency questions about real situations. Your answers are compared with your CV.
Competency questions
Interview questions that ask for a real example from your past, such as “Tell me about a time you calmed an upset customer”. The panel uses your example to judge how you would act on board.

Why applications stall

Common preparation mistakes

ATS (applicant tracking system)
Software that airlines may use to receive, read and sort CVs before a recruiter sees them. Plain layouts are read well; columns, graphics and unusual fonts may be read badly.
Grooming standard
The airline's rules for how crew look in uniform: hair, make-up, nails, jewellery and visible tattoos. Each airline publishes or explains its own.

Mentor support

Work with a mentor

A mentor can work with you on your CV, your application or your Assessment Day. The services page shows what each of the four services includes and what it costs.

Stage brief
A short preparation note for one airline and one recruitment stage, built with your mentor from your actual invitation. Skywing uses it when it has no full guide for that airline, so no guide is invented.

Skywing's free check: you choose your airline and stage and answer a few questions. The result shows what to work on now, what can wait and whether any service fits.
Mentor
A person who prepares you one to one inside a paid service, for example in practice sessions. Skywing checks each mentor's background; mentors do not work for or speak for any airline.
